Übung macht den Meister - practice makes perfect

Allen meinen Lesern wünsche ich ein frohes neues Jahr. Klaus und ich planen für dieses Jahr einige Entwicklungen, hier kann man sie ahnen.
Während das Blatt für den künftigen kleinen Fuchsschwanz heute bei meinem Freund mit der Schlagschere eingeschlossen war, habe ich zwei Blätter bezahnt. Eine Dovetail Saw von 25 cm mit 13 tpi von Hand, also nur mit der Feile, und eine 50 cm Tenonsaw mit 11tpi mit dem Retoother. Währen die Dovetail (also rund 130 Zähne) innerhalb einer 3/4 Stunde bezahnt, geschränkt geschärft und eingeklebt war, war ich bei der Tenon saw (200 Zähne) nach einer Stunde nicht über das Setzten der Zähne hinaus. Auch so eine einfache Maschine wie der Retoother hat seine Tücken und wir müssen uns erst aneinander gewöhnen. Am Ende des Jahres werden wir sehen.

A happy new year to all my readers. Some new projekts ahead this year for Klaus and me. The coming panel saw today was waiting in the shop of my friend. He has the sheet shears to cut the blade from the sheet. In the meanwhile I retoothed two saws: a dovetail (10" 13tpi) with a file only and a tenon saw (20" 1o tpi) with the retoother. The dovetail took 3/4h incl. setting, sharpening and laminating into the spine. The tenon saw took the same amount of time retoothing only. I have to get used to the machine. I will have at the end of the year.
