Vikingehåndværk

In my last holiday I visited the Vikingegården of Lotte and Jacob Nielsen: . Lotte and Jacob dedicated their traditional danish four side farmstead to the viking age.

In meinem letzten URlaub habe ich den Vikingegården von Lotte und Jacob Nielsen besucht.
Lotte und Jacob haben ihren traditionellen dänischen Vierseithof der Vikingerzeit gewidmet.

Jacob ist gelernter Schnitzer und Hobbyschmeid, wie er selbst sagt. Immer Mittwochs finden Wikingerspiele statt und Jacob Schmiedet und schnitzt. Auf dieser Bank schnitz jacob Küchenbretter.

Jacob is a profi carver and hobby black smith, as he told me. Every wednesday in the season Viking games are offered to play and Jacob carves and forges. This is the carvin bench, Jacob uses to carve cutting boards

The boards are hold with selfehammered holdfasts. Though there is a lot of place for the holdfasts on the holes, they hold very tight. Jacob said it is because they are not as thick as the ones you can buy.

Während des Schnitzens werden die Bretter mit selbstgeschmiedeten Niederhaltern gespannt. Obwohl sehr viel Platz in den Löchern ist, halten die Niederhalter sehr gut. Jacob mein, dass liegt daran, dass sie nicht so dick sein wie die gekauften.
