classic vs. pollywog, teaser

Jonas ask for a picture with both types of handles in one picture.
There you are. Double use: Teaser for Brian. And: the first ebony handle completly finiehed by me. Klaus did the shaping, though.

resanding the pollywog
hardly visible: this is riple ebony

  1. Thanks for the pictures.
I can see why a pollywog handle is faster to make.
It also looks like there will be some difference in the hang of the saw depending on if you use a classic handle or a pollywog.
Both handles are beautiful for sure, but the pollywog has got the advantage of a cool name :-)

    1. Hi Joans, yes there is a diffenrent hang angle. The hang is lower on the pollywog. That allows a heavier spine.

  2. OMG! It is freaking gorgeous! I can see the ripple in the ebony. At least I know it is there. Perhaps the other handle blanks from that board will be a bit more figured, but, I really like it.

    1. H Brian,

it was a bit more seeable before the carbnauba wax. Your pice was the one with the most figure, Klaus said. It will be a special saw anyway.
